Translate product behavior into packaging requirements
Powders can cake, absorb moisture, lose aroma, oxidize, generate dust, carry oils or abrade sealing surfaces. Record the formulation's known sensitivities, particle size, bulk density, fill weight, serving method, target shelf life and storage environment before comparing materials.
Protein powders, drink mixes, powdered oils, probiotics and botanical blends should not be assumed to need the same barrier or seal design. Product-specific stability work may be required to establish the shelf-life relationship.

Separate barrier, strength and sealing functions
The complete construction must balance barrier with stiffness, puncture resistance, flex-crack behavior, print protection and sealing. PE-, PP- or multi-layer families may be evaluated, with possible barrier treatments or layers selected around the product and end-of-life objective.
A high stated barrier value on an unconverted film does not prove finished-bag performance. Seams, zipper integration, pinholes, flexing, folds, fill contamination and converting conditions can influence the actual package.
Choose the format around filling and consumer use
Stand-up bags provide broad flexibility, while flat-bottom bags can provide a defined shelf shape and multiple print panels. Larger fills may need reinforced geometry, side gussets, stronger seals or carrying features. Single-serve portions may use premade sachets or rollstock matched to packing equipment.
Zipper placement, opening width, scoop access, tear notch, laser score, hang hole and tamper-evident concepts should be resolved with the fill line and user experience. Powder in the seal or zipper area may require process controls or particle-resistant closure concepts.

Protect required label space and validate production
Reserve readable space for identity, net quantity, Supplement Facts, ingredients, business information, directions, warnings, lot or date coding and other applicable content. The responsible manufacturer or distributor must create and approve the final label and product claims.
Before production, confirm food-contact documentation as applicable and evaluate filled-package seals, barrier targets, zipper cycles, drop and distribution performance, filling-line compatibility, print durability and shelf-life requirements for the approved specification.
