What is the difference between a folding carton and a rigid box?
Folding cartons are normally printed and die cut from paperboard and supplied flat or preassembled. Rigid boxes use thicker wrapped board and create a heavier presentation structure. The right choice depends on the product, channel, opening experience, quantity, pack-out, and delivery plan.
Can P&M help create the box structure and dieline?
Yes. Structural and dieline support can be reviewed after the product dimensions, weight, orientation, box style, insert, opening, assembly, and pack-out requirements are understood. A physical white sample is recommended when fit or opening behavior is not established.
Can I approve a sample before production?
A white structural sample can confirm size, fit, opening, closure, insert, and assembly. A printed or production-representative sample can then address color, paper, lamination, foil, UV, embossing, texture, windows, magnets, and other approved details.
What is the minimum order for custom paper boxes?
There is no single minimum for every box. It depends on the structure, dimensions, board, print route, finish, tooling, insert, assembly, and quantity per artwork. P&M confirms the practical production minimum after reviewing the actual specification.
What should I send for a quote?
Send the product, dimensions and weight, preferred box style or reference image, insert and finish needs, quantity by size and design, artwork status, destination, and target date. Unknown details can be left open for recommendation.
