Begin with chemistry and intended use

Document whether the pouch is a single-use refill, multi-use dispensing pack, concentrate, powder or tablet package. Expected consumer handling changes the need for a handle, reclosure, controlled flow, opening force and residue resistance.

Engineer fitments, seals and filling together
Spout resin and flange design must be compatible with the pouch sealant and welding process. Opening diameter, cap, torque, tamper evidence, flow, glugging and pouring control should match the product and consumer use.
The filler needs confirmed pouch dimensions, spout position, seal areas, headspace, fill temperature, handling method and capping requirements. A pouch that works as an empty sample may behave differently after filling and packing.
Test the filled package and shipping system
Assess the final filled package rather than the film alone. A practical plan may include compatibility aging, seal and fitment-weld checks, leak testing, drop orientation, compression, vibration, temperature cycling, cap torque, dispensing and corrugated case performance.
Acceptance criteria should reflect package size, fill weight, distribution route and the consequences of leakage. Pallet pattern, case count and headspace can influence load transfer and flexing during transport.

Treat warnings and child resistance as package-level issues
Reserve durable, readable space for product identity, directions, warnings, hazard communication, business information and other applicable content. Label materials and print protection may need resistance to moisture, abrasion and product residue.
A child-resistant zipper or closure component does not automatically establish that the finished package meets an applicable requirement. Product classification, the complete package, instructions, testing protocol and supporting documentation must be evaluated before making a child-resistant claim.
