DDP or DAP: what changes for your order?
DDP means Delivered Duty Paid and places the responsibilities assigned by that rule on the seller through the named destination, including import clearance and duties. DAP means Delivered at Place and assigns import clearance and duties to the buyer under that rule. The contract should name the exact place and Incoterms version.
DDU is an older term removed when Incoterms 2010 introduced DAP. If a quotation informally says DDU, ask the parties to replace it with the intended current rule and state customs, tax, fee, unloading, and final-delivery responsibilities clearly.
Express, air, or ocean freight: which mode fits?
Parcel express may suit urgent or smaller shipments; air freight can support time-sensitive larger shipments; consolidated ocean or full-container freight can reduce cost for suitable volumes but adds planning and transit variability. Availability and economics depend on origin, destination, dimensions, weight, commodity, service, and season.

When does the production lead-time clock start?
The quotation or project schedule should identify the documented release point. Production timing may begin only after the dimensions, specification, dieline, artwork, material route, commercial terms, required sample or test results, and customer approvals are complete.
Payment alone may not release production when technical or approval items remain open. Record the final approval date, production range, planned quality review, freight mode, customs scope, and target in-hand date so production time is not confused with total delivery time.
